Welcome to the German Navy
Dear vacationers, dear Mecklenburger, dear friends of the navy!
The German Navy presents itself again to all visitors of the Hanse Sail. Amongst other locations, the naval base “Hohe Düne” will be part of the program and open to visitors. You can be assured that our program once again has many highlights in store: a helmet diving show, a spectacular flight program by our naval pilots or open ship of the resident corvettes and supply ships, to name just a few.
You can also watch an active sea rescue exercise during the 29th Hanse Sail and witness various rescue forces doing their skilful work.
Long term associated organizations like the air defence missile system “Patriot” from Sanitz and the sapper training center from Ingolstadt will also be present to showcase their skills and the diversity of the Bundeswehr.
Passenger rides, stage shows and pea soup
You want to get active yourself? – Then come aboard and enjoy a trip on a sailing cutter or a navy traffic ship. The passenger rides are free for all visitors and guaranteed to be eventful and a lot of fun. For those who rather want to stay on solid grounds, there will be the chance to sit inside and be the master of a truck. The driving school of the Bundeswehr makes this spectacular experience possible for you and provides competent instruction and assistance. You can also take part in a helicopter roundtrip (fee required) in the direction of the city harbour or the Baltic Sea.
The whole crew of the naval base “Hohe Düne” will be at your service for support and advice during the opening times on Friday, Saturday and Sunday and will be presenting you a maritime adventure day. You will be entertained by an active stage show, which program ranges from shanty choir and big band to national and international musical entertainment.
The Schumann family from our gastronomic service will take care of your culinary well-being with a great diversity ranging from pea soup to fish sandwiches.
Program in Warnemünde and the city harbour
The Navy will also be showing its various facets at further locations. The frigate “Mecklenburg-Vorpommern” will be another highlight at the passenger quay Warnemünde and invites visitors to open ship times.
The career truck of the Bundeswehr will be at the Rostock city harbour and will answer all your questions about the Navy and Bundeswehr.
