„Olander“ wins the 4th Haikutter Regatta

A little too late, around noon on the 8th of August, the 12 vessels started to the 4th Haikutter Regatta from the Danish town Nysted to Rostock with an open start. The winner is the “Olander”. The under a Polish flag sailing vessel crossed the finishing line at 2:47 p.m. in Warnemünde with an overall time of 3 hours and 17 minutes. The second became the “Hansine” (G) with 3 hours and 27 minutes. Third became the Danish vessel “Sleipner” with 3 hours and 31 minutes. The “Dagmar Aaen” accompanied by the polar scientist and owner Arved Fuchs with an overall time of 3 hours and 44 minutes.

“After a tumultuous start with a strong wind of 15-16 m/s and waves from two to three meters at the windmillpark near Nysted the wind calmed down step by step on the way to Warnemünde” so the resumé of the chief of the Regatta Finn Hermansen. This was a great kick-off for the 22nd Hanse Sail. We welcome the Haikutter to Rostock!
