“A reward was the fantastic sunny Sail-Saturday, which let to an attractive regatta of traditional sailing ship off Warnemünde. So, our partners and guests could experience a sunny side of the Sail, such as e.g. managing directors of leading companies, the new voted mayor of Bremerhaven, Melf Grantz the delegation from Kiel, who handed over a Rostock’s young sailers a dinghy of the type ‘Opti’. I am glad that the Hanse Sail is honoured by the government Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania at official and personal conversations as an important economy- and image factor for the region Rostock and the whole state. That is a good fundament to make the maritime festival even more attractive. Thanks to all, who organized and realized the start into the third decade well. I am glad that the ‘inhabitant movement Hanse Sail’ – from sponsoring to voluntary helpers functions.

Holger Bellgardt, head of the Hanse Sail Office, is satisfied after the most work intensive days of the year. "On Saturday, that is the highlight of the Sail-days, there was a successful ‘conquest’ of the city harbour and Warnemünde by inhabitants and guests. As one of the Saturdays with the highest number of visitors in the history of the maritime event, we and our partners were rewarded for the whole year’s efforts: our varied offers were adopted. In particular it concerns the fantastic fleet of traditional sailing ships with over a dozen of windjammers or the ‘Bounty’ as a ‘star’. It concerns also the premium class rides or for the sporty activities in the sailing stadium by top athletes. My thanks go to my team and to the growing number of partners, year by year. Together with them, we will analyze the 21. Sail and think about improvements, e.g. in the event logistics. The joy about a succeeded, friendly and peacefully Sail will motivate us."
