The SHTANDART of 1703 – beautiful and fast
Along the western course from Warnemünde to Heiligendamm and back, 16 ships participated in the regatta of traditional sailers with good weather and wind force 2. Fifteen ships of 4 groups (square-riggers, schooners, one-masters, and yachts) accomplished the goal.

The APHRODITE gave up for reasons of time. The Russian frigate SHTANDART could win the desired trophy before the Dutch three-master ARTEMIS. The crew of the ARTEMIS had to admit defeat, although they came to the Hanse Sail with a will to win. In group B of the schooners, the Dutch two-master TWISTER won before the German QUALLE and the Lithuanian BRABANDER. Along the one-masters, the Dutch gaff-rigged-cutter STELLA MARIS won – as it did last year. Second was the Pomeranian HOFFNUNG from Germany. Along the small ships, the yachts of group 4, the BAUMSTARK won before the DAENN BLAUWE. Winners will be awarded on the Hanse-Sail-Stage at 6 p.m..
