Kick-off concert at the 22nd Hanse Sail Rostock

According to the motto “experience the outrageous” the “Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern” chose a very industrial environment for their concerts. In the “Halle 207” visitors can enjoy the extraordinary mixture of classical music and industrial charm of the former Neptun shipyard.
This summer the cellist Daniel Müller-Schott and the young northern German philharmonic orchestra perform at the opening of the Hanse Sail among other they will play Elgar’s famous cello concert and Strawinsky’s “Firebird”. The kick-off concert will be on Wednesday, the 8th August at 7:30.
Daniel Müller-Schott is one of the world’s best cellists and performs at the most important international concerts. The audience and the press are fascinated by his overwhelming technique, his „ splendid full tones and the meticulous attention which he gives to his interpretations”. The prize winner from 1995 was always faithful to the festival in the north. In the “Halle 207” in Rostock, where originally were ships constructed, presents Daniel Müller-Schott together with the “junge norddeutsche philharmonie” under the direction of Nicholas Milton Elgar’s cello concert. The young orchestra presents with Prokofjew’s symphony nr. 5 and Stravinsky’s "Firebird" two great orchestra pieces.
The concert is presented with the assistance of WIRO.
