The German Navy – A traditional partner of the Hanse Sail

Since the first Hanse Sail 20 years ago, the German Navy presents itself with their ships to many guests every year. Even in 2011 many things will be offered, with “Open-Ship”, sailing trips and open days in the base in Warnemünde.
The impressive main-sailing vessels attract thousands of visitors from near and far; the Navy makes a contribution with their training sailing ship GORCH FOCK which presents itself as well as the sponsor ship of the state, the frigate MECKLENBURG-VORPOMMERN and speedboats from Warnemünde to visitors at the this year’s Sail.
In Warnemünde, the biggest base of the Navy will provide the opportunity for all guests to take a look behind the scenes. Naval helicopters train together with the rescue cruiser of the German Sea Rescue Service.
Further attractions are the Navy divers or the base fire brigade. But also the
Air Force with its anti-aircraft missile troop of the region, the medical service of the German Armed Forces, the civil Defence Administration and the Military Chaplaincy will present themselves.
The range of information of the Defence Commissioner is oriented toward young people. Pupils and high school graduates can get a deeper inside into the career opportunities of the German Armed Forces.
The program offers something for everyone – welcome on board!
